List to be notified of league events and updates.
ROSTER:
Maximum number of players per bowling team is 5 (minimum of 2 females). Players will not be allowed to participate without signing the San Antonio SSC roster/waiver form. The only way to add a new player to your roster after the registration deadline is by first dropping another player. Teams have up until the third week of the season to do so. After that, rosters are frozen. The additional player must obtain the t-shirt from the dropped player in order to play.
WAIVERS / ROSTER:
In order to participate in the league, each participant must sign the team waiver / roster. Waivers / Rosters will be e-mailed to all team captains, which need to be printed out and turned in no later then the first night of play. Players not present the first week of play will still be required to sign a waiver with our staff before participating. A San Antonio SSC staff member will keep your team waiver /roster at the field, or a new one can be printed out. Players who sign up as individuals sign the waiver online when they register.
PLAYER RESTRICTIONS:
All San Antonio SSC participants must be at least 21 years old before the season starts.
Players that have participated in Division 1 or professional sports must be 2 years removed from Division 1 or professional participation if they wish to play in a similar San Antonio SSC sport.
San Antonio SSC has the right to request ID from any player. Any player in the super social league who is determined a social player by the San Antonio SSC will have their league fee credited towards a future season. If more than one player fits in the category, the San Antonio SSC has the option to move the team to the social division.
Players may only play for one team and be on one roster, regardless of if multiple divisions are offered. One can play, for example, softball on Tuesday's & softball on Thursday's, but not for two teams on the same day or night. Any player that break this rule will cause both of their teams to forfeit games played on that day.
SPORTSMANSHIP:
We are all adults, and the San Antonio SSC expects all participants to act like it. Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in that player or team being suspended from participating in all San Antonio SSC sports. Being ejected from a game carriers a minimum one game suspension.
GAME UNIFORMS:
San Antonio SSC t-shirts are your team's uniforms. All players must wear their current San Antonio SSC uniform (past season's uniforms are not permitted) to participate and any player not wearing his/her uniform will be will be sidelined for that game. If this sidelined player will cause the team to forfeit, he/she will be allowed to play in the game provided he/she is on the original roster. Missing or swapped uniform players' names will be taken and if they are not on your roster, a loss will be assessed for that game.
UNIFORM ALTERATIONS:
San Antonio SSC uniforms must stay in the original color ordered. Names on uniforms, numbers, cut-off sleeves, corporate logos, etc, are permitted, as long as they do not cover or remove any logos originally printed on the shirts.
CO-ED BOWLING RULES:
POINTS AWARDED:
Win – 2 points...Tie – 1 point....Loss – 0 points.
GAME EQUIPMENT:
All bowling equipment (bowling balls, bowling alley shoes) will be provided by the bowling alley itself. The cost of rentals for each of these items is included in your registration fees (you will not have to pay to rent shoes on game nights). Please note that if you already own your own bowling ball and / or bowling-legal shoes, you may bring them to the alley.
FORMAT:
Each team will bowl two separate games versus two different teams each of the four weeks of the season. There will be two shifts: a 6:30pm - 8:30pm shift and a 8:30pm - 10:30pm shift.
FORFEITS FINES:
Teams without the minimum number of players at the start of the game or after the completion of the first game (see bowling forfeit extension rule below) will be charged a $50 fine. This fine will go towards your opponent's bar tab for the following week. Teams that receive a forfeit fine must use it the following week or lose it. If a 24-hour forfeit notice is given to the San Antonio SSC, your team will not be assessed a forfeit fine.
All fines must be paid before your next scheduled game by either cash or check. If payment is not received by the end of this next scheduled game, your team will be assessed a loss for this game. Teams will not be allowed to play any proceeding games until the fine is paid in full. Teams that have any (forfeit) fines from the last regular season game will not be allowed back into the San Antonio SSC for any sport until these fines are paid in full.
FORFEIT / FORFEIT EXTENSIONS:
Each team must have at least 3 team members present at the start of the game (at least one female).
If a team does not possess the needed amount of players to start, the opposing team will receive an automatic victory. In the case of a forfeit, the present team members will bowl for their missing team members until they show up (although the scores will not count). If only 3 team members are present at the beginning of the game, the game will still be valid but the scores for the fourth and fifth team members, respectively, will not be counted.
BEGINNING OF GAME:
All teams must clearly specify which order the team members are bowling in. The order must stay the same for each of the two games per night. This can be done with a lineup or name tags indicating who is bowler #1, bowler #2, etc. The order of bowlers (ie, whether guy - girl - guy or guy - guy - girl) does not matter provided it is consistent for each game bowled that night.
SCORING:
Each team will take the top four highest scores (with at least one female's score) without a handicap. The accumulated total of the top four bowlers will then be compared to the other team's accumulated scores to determine the winner. If four bowlers (at least one female) begin the game and the fifth bowler shows up after the scheduled first turn, that bowler's score will not count and the team's total will be the original four's accumulated total.
If only three bowlers are present at the beginning of the game (at least one female), the score given for the fourth teammate's spot will be the lowest score of the present bowler minus 25 pins. For example, if the three bowlers bowl a 156, 135, and a 112, the fourth score would be 112-25 = 87 and the team's total would be 156 + 135 + 112 + 87.
SHOES / BOWLING BALLS:
All team members must pick up their shoes and pick out a ball BEFORE their schedued start time in order to ensure every game is completed within one hour. Please alert Astro Bowl staff that you are in the San Antonio SSC Bowling league when requesting your shoes for the evening.
FOOD / DRINKS:
All food and drinks can be left on the ledges near the back of the lanes or on the tables behind the lanes. No food or drink is allowed on the lanes.
