Dodgebrawlers Dash Debbies Dynasty Dreams

The top 10 teams from the 2010 Winter Dodgeball Season all came into the postseason with championship aspirations, but two teams were much higher than any other teams in the league. Weapons of Mass Seduction and DTF began the night by winning their opening round games to set up a very intriguing slate of quarterfinal matchups. Mass seduction got the unfortunate draw of undefeated Dodgebrawlers in the elite 8 round, and the Dodgebrawlers made quick work of the underdogs winning 5-0. The two time defending champs Debbie Does Dodgeball also won their quarterfinal matchup 5-0, by defeating the Hoo Hoo Shield. The number two seed Balls Deep was never in danger of being left out of the final four as they took down DTF 5-1 to advance to a semi-final match against Debbie. Black Sheep’s win over the four seed Los Escrubs was the playoffs first “upset” in terms of a lower seed advancing.

The semi-final matchups were not nearly as competitive as many in attendance were hoping. The Black Sheep were hoping to avenge their week 6 loss against the Dodgebrawlers, however they were once again disappointed as the Dodgebrawlers advanced to the Dodge Bowl with a 5-2 win. Balls Deep looked very impressive in their week 2 4-2 win over Debbie, but Debbie always steps up in the playoffs and kept their dynasty hopes alive with a 5-1 semi-final win. After the Dodgebrawlers took game 1 handily it looked as though Debbie was done, but after tying the best of 9 series at 1 game a piece Debbie regained the momentum. Dodgebrawlers quickly regained their composure and rattled off four straight wins and become the Winter 2010 Dodgeball Champions. During their championship campaign, the Dodgebrawlers went a perfect 15-0 in matches played, and only lost 6 games while winning 63. If they can keep their roster intact, we could easily be witnessing a new Dynasty contender.
