Pitches Be Crazy

The Start of Something Crazy

July 26, 2010

There was plenty of energy, and some first game nerves, at Rusty Lyons as we started week 1 of the summer softball season.

All teams arrived ready for the action and fun, but as always during week 1, there was some confusion over the league rules. Once questions were answered, teams worked on making adjustments on the field, as some teams have never played together.

We saw plenty of learning and alterations going on as Bayside Tigers took on Pitches Be Crazy. In the 6th inning Bayside Tigers, were down by one run and were up to bat. They managed to earn two runs, to take the lead. Pitches Be Crazy were on a mission to win the game though, because their batting was on key as they brought in three runs. As the Bayside Tigers stepped up to the plate one last time, PBC were on their ‘A’ game and swiftly got three outs to take a 6-4 win.

Although there are plenty of rookies joining us, there are some well seasoned SSC Softball players on the fields, and they are anything but lenient. Rockford Peaches proved this as they took their first win of the season with a 16-4 game against Baby Got Bats. That’s What She Said, another SSC Softball veteran, slid in one after another over The Sake Bombers taking home a clean 21-0 victory.

Come to Rusty Lyons on Sundays to watch as teams bring their all in hopes for a victorious season, whether that is playing, drinking, or both.

Just a reminder that after every game this season we will have great happy hour specials at Tycoon Flats. All you need is your San Antonio SSC uniform to take advantage of all the great deals.
