Week 3 was perhaps the most competitive week so far with 3 game 7’s and a game 6 added in for good measure.
Turner looked as if they were going to pick up their first victory of the season against HitDodgeRun. They started the night on the front in the first few games but HitDodgeRun rallied when they needed it the most and forced a game 7. HitDodgeRun were surgical in the 7th game picking off players from Turner until only one remained. At that point it was just target practice. Despite a spirited effort of dodging and ducking eventually the final Turner player would fall as would they 4-3.
Another 7 game series promptly followed, featuring Run and Gun vs Sirens. Just as Turner had done, Sirens jumped out to an early lead only to be clawed back by Run and Gun. Sirens found themselves with 2 game points but lost the first one, one in which they were quickly eliminated. The final game however was quite different. Run and Gun quickly found themselves down to their final guy. Despite a valiant effort he was only able to eliminate 2 players before he was a victim of a ball to the foot. Sirens were victorious 4-3 and managed to even their record for the season at 3-3.

The second week of the season came and with it a week’s worth of experience. That experience paid off in the way of fantastic games.
After only picking up 2 games in week 1, HitDodgeRun came into week 2 determined to do better. And that determination paid off in spades as they were able to win both of their matches this week, in dominate fashion nonetheless. They only dropped games against Turner and Duck Duck Dodge. If confidence truly is infectious they will have reason to be optimistic going into the rest of the season.
A team that came into week 2 already high on confidence was Mouthful, who had swept their week 1 matches. They followed that up with another sweep in this week’s games. However it didn’t initially look as if they would win against Turner. Turner took 2 of the first 3 games leaving Mouthful with their backs up against the wall. However a run of three games in a row allowed them to escape with their perfect record still intact.

A new location and new teams made week 1 interesting for everyone. Side lines and back lines have been replaced with walls which took away out of bounds but also asked balls to roll back to the other side, providing new intriguing elements for potential game play.
It took the newer teams a little while to grasp the strategy of the game. Our 1 individual team, Duck Duck Dodge, had to go up against Gotcha to start their season. Gotcha has a near unblemished dodgeball record, so triple D was looking to a rough welcome to start their season. Though, it could be a blessing in disguise, as they got a first hand opportunity to pick up any tricks from a well seasoned team.
For the first time in SASSC history, we have an all female dodgeball team. It is only week 1, and they already have the biggest fan base, as everyone stopped to watch them play. They were able to sweep their first match of the night before taking Gotcha to 6 games in a loss.
Impressive results by these bold competitors. Can these crafty innovators bring forth an evolution to the current dodgeball dynamics? Time will tell.

Social Team of the week goes to Hit It & Acquit It who, even though they were down players, still brought out the most players to the bar afterwards and were having a great time. Its good to see our teams at the bar after the games and having fun together.
Our night got off to a bang once again with another game seven to start. Hit It & Acquit It and Throwbocop went back and forth for the first six games and it came down to the wire. In the end, Throwbocop came out with a win in the Game of the Night.
We have had awesome games being played all season and as the playoffs approach we can only expect more.

CG
Our Social Team of the Week goes to Hit It and Acquit It who, while only have the minimum amount of players, still had the most fun by going to the Hangar between and after their games. The entire team was out at the bar watching the Spurs game afterwards and were having a good time with everybody. It has been about the friendliest dodgeball season ever! Keep it up, teams!
We had another night of good games but we can only have one game of the night, which goes to Throwbocop vs CG. CG jumped out to an early lead, but Throwbocop continued to battle back. Every game came down to the wire, and at the end of game seven it came down to one on one for the win. Throwbocop’s final player was able to eliminate CG’s final player, putting the final touch on an awesome comeback win. We have seen quite a few game 7’s this season and we can only hope for more exciting dodgeball down the back stretch of the season.

Reservoir Dodge
We have come to the halfway point to our season and it was another fun night of dodgeball. We got off to a fast start with an awesome first game and had some good competition, and afterwards, we had a great turnout at the Hangar for some post-game drinks! We hope the momentum carries on and we have a great second half to the season!
Our Social Team of the Week is Resevoir Dodge, whose entire team was at the bar afterwards and had a great time! It was great to see all of our teams at the bar afterwards drinking together and having a good time.
The night got off to a hot start with a match-up between Hit It and Acquit It and Throwbocop. Throwbocop came out on fire and got off to a quick 3-0 lead. However, Hit It and acquit found their groove and came back to win 4-3. It was the game of the night and a hard fought battle all the way through.
Later on in the night we also so Gotcha come back and win two consecutive games against Resevoir Dodge and CG. Both games were well played with Resevoir Dodge and CG jumping out to 2-0 leads. Gotcha persevered to win 4-2 in both games.

Gotcha
Week Two is in the books and it was a great night of dodgeball! We saw some extremely competitive games, with a couple of game sevens and a couple of game sixes throughout the night. There was some intense dodgeball all night and the rest of this season should be exciting with this level of play.
Our Social Team of the Week goes to Gotcha! Over the first two weeks, players from Gotcha have helped some of our newer teams become acclimated to our rules and pace of the game. They are deserving of a shoutout for assisting our newer teams and making them feel welcome!
This week we saw many great games, but the week was highlighted by our two game sevens. Both of them involved Throwbocop, who in their first game of the night went back and forth with Gotcha until game seven, where Gotcha turned it on and came out with a 4-3 win. Their next effort of the night yielded a better result, as they came from behind and beat CG, 4-3. This was the most competitive night of dodgeball we’ve had in a long time and we can’t wait for the rest of the season!

Later on in the night, we saw Throwbocop and Reservoir Dodge match-up in the most contested game of the night. Both teams were going back and forth at the beginning of the game, splitting the first 4 matches 2-2. After that it was all Throwbocop. They caught fire at the end and pulled out with a 4-2 win.
It was great to see competitive dodgeball being played and we can’t wait to see y’all again next week!

The final night of the dodgeball season featured a pair of tight matches, both featuring Reservoir Dodge. They started the night by beating Dirty Dodgers in a 7 game match. Neither team was able to get too far ahead as every throw counted. In the end they took the 4-3 win in a match up that will be related in the semi finals of the playoffs.
For their second game they feel behind Throwbocop Strikes Back 2-0. They lost the first of those games after losing in a 3v1 situation against a throwbocop female. Reservoir Dodge would storm back and take the match 4-2.
Elsewhere vicious and delicious finished the season off with a perfect record. They will be the odds on favorites come playoff time.

The night offered teams a chance to get some practice dodgeball in as Argyle forfeited each of their games.
On the courts that mattered however the Dirty Dodgers were able to muster an impressive 4-0 win over Reservoir Dodge. These 2 teams will battle it out for the rest of the season for the number 2 seed behind Vicious and Delicious.
Throwbocop Strikes Back had a rough night of it, taking on the 1st and 2nd seed. And they would have to do it missing a handful of their normal players. They put up a great fight against Reservoir Ddoge, falling 4-2, before having a rough go of it against Vicious and Delicious, falling 4-1.
