Finally after a long season the time has come to make one final push towards playoff spots and possible kickball immortality.
In the Social Division, the standings have been shaken up following the final week of the season. The two 700 games went a far way into determining who would play next week. Hump Day Heroes had a chance to seal up the top spot with a victory over We’re Taking You’re Grandma To Applebees. They started off in a positive fashion, taking an early 1-0 lead to start the game. For a few innings that seemed like it might be enough until Grandma pegged them back. The Heroes would again take a one run lead, but a very late Grandma home run would be enough to tie the game and set up a rematch in the playoffs next week.
On the next field Rochambeaux were holding off a late rally by the Sexual Chocolates in hopes of making the playoffs. Rochambeaux came in knowing only a victory would do and found themselves three outs away from a win. However the final inning didn’t start off well for them and it soon got worse. Hits and dropped balls allowed the Chocolates to get within one run. And with their last batter the chocolates hit another fly ball with two runners on base that two Rochambeaux players camped under. Sadly their attempted combo catch fell to the ground yet again. The “tying” run crossed the plate however Rochambeaux was able to get a force out at second to negate that and escape with a 6-5 victory.
