Final Stretch! (Wednesday’s)

We’ve reached the second half of the season and the push for the four playoff spots in each division has started in earnest. With two games remaining before final seedings are made the race in each division is tight for the third and fourth spots.

After four weeks only one team remains with a perfect unblemished record, Das Boot. They stayed perfect playing the way they have all season, playing fantastic defense and scoring just enough to pick up the W. In Week Four, they took on Your Pitch Makes My Kick Hard and used a three run second inning to score the only runs of the game. Tight games are nothing new to Das Boot this season. They’ve only scored 15 runs this season but have only allowed four, a league best. You don’t need to score many when you only allow a run a game on average.

Ballzinga has a near perfect record, suffering only a single tie to start the season. They continued their fantastic season against Chorizo Funk. Against Funk they were consistent in the opening innings, scoring in each of the first three and eight overall. While Funk made a comeback they started their attempt a bit too late and were only able to score four, falling 9-4.  That puts Ballzinga at the top of the Bud Light Division with only two weeks left before the playoff cut.
