Our Social shoutouts this week go to both Ballzinga and Groovy Kicks! They arrived well before their games to light the bbq pits, enjoy some pre-game booze and enjoy the ambiance of a beautiful Texas evening!
Week Two has come and gone and both the Bud Light and Michelob Ultra Divisions saw some close games that left only 4 2-0 teams left. With the new playoff system that leaves everyone within reach of getting one of those crucial playoff spots.
In the Bud Light Division, neither Big Red Balls or Chorizo Funk were able to repeat last week’s winning ways. In each case, allowing a first inning run was their downfall. Big Red Balls were not helped by taking a ghost out every time through their order but more importantly couldn’t get the kicks they needed when they got runners on base. They would fall 3-0 to the Toe Jammers in a rematch of last season’s Super Social finals. For Chorizo Funk, they found their offense too late in the game, finally scoring in the seventh inning, but falling 3-1 to Ballin Under the Influence.
In the Michelob Division, Das Boot took on the Ball Busters in a game where each team struggled offensively. Das Boot would get their own run in the first inning, but from there on in, no one from either team would cross home plate as they won 1-0. After last week’s comeback tie, Kickin n Creaming upped their last inning heroics against Double Play, Triple Heyyyy. Down 2-1 going into their final kicks, Kicking scored four to take the win.
These results leave us with muddled standings. There is still no clear-cut top four, so each team will need to bring their best games next week!
