Week Two of the season has come and gone and we were treated to some thrilling games! That bodes well for a great season as the season goes forward.
PYT took on the Amigos and looked to be having a tough time of it as they were a player short. While both teams had some half chances, it seemed that we would go into the half with a 0-0 scoreline. However, PYT would break the goose egg tie in an unexpected fashion when a seemingly innocent shot from 25 yards out bounced in front of the keeper, off his arms and just barely made it across the line. PYT would add a female goal later in the game and looked to be cruising. However, the Amigos weren’t finished yet. Could they make a comeback? A number of late runs seemed that perhaps they had enough let in the tank. Sadly, not today, as the final whistle blew seconds later with a final score, 3-2 in PYT’s favor .
Despite the early heartbreak, Amigos wasn’t done for the night as they would have a chance at redemption against Cobras. Cobras have been a dominant team for seasons, but they quickly found themselves on the wrong side of a 1-0 score inside of the first three minutes to a team determined to lift their spirits. Cobras would quickly tie the game. This was an indication of how the rest of the game would go, balls flying into the back of the net. The Cobras would find themselves with the advantage at the end of the game by better utilizing their female touches instead of having to force them in front of goal, a good lesson to be learned by all of the teams.
