Final Week! (Wednesday’s)

Setsy and We Know It

Another sand volleyball season at Factory of Champions is in the books, and teams never fail to make it a great and enjoyable one. The competition was stiff tonight as a number of teams fought for standings rankings, especially those on the playoff bubble. But regardless of what the regular season outcome was, everyone remained extremely positive and had a blast all season. Thanks to everyone and make sure to check the SASSC website for registration details for next season!

As always, we had a number of teams join us before and after that match with plenty of good drinks and good food. Many made their way over to the Hangar and partook in the annual Cards Against Humanity tournament. Whatever a teams pre and post match schedule is, we appreciate what each and every team brought to this awesome season!

Our first featured match-up of the evening featured the likes of Blockbusters and 2 Legit 2 Hit. A veteran team and group of newcomers, respectively, the game had everything you would want in a final week showdown. As many new teams do, 2 Legit has struggled much of the season, but they looked to end this season on a high note looking into next season. But Blockbusters would have other plans as they would take an early 16-5. Though the first set looked to be all but wrapped up, 2 Legit came roaring back to tie the set at 23-23 in an incredible rally! Busters would settle in and rally for two quick points and escape the first set, 25-23. Now on edge, Busters came out offensively firing in the second set and they would not allow themselves another mental breakdown. They would take care of the second set comfortably, 25-9.
Our second featured game saw Setsy & We Know It and Empire Spikes Back. The force was stronger with Setsy in the first set as they took the first comfortably, 25-17. But after regrouping, Empire fought back and looked to be in command during the second. Setsy would rally to make it close at the midpoint, but would ultimately fall 25-18. Onto the third! Not as close as they score my indicate, Setsy was in control of the third set and ran away with the match in the third 15-11. Both teams have qualified for the playoffs, and depending on how the standings work out, it could be an early match-up!

Good luck to all of our playoff teams!
