Birthday Fiestas! (Wednesday’s)

Spazmatic Transplants

We can’t believe that Week Three has already come and gone! It’s been a great first season of the year thus far, and as the playoffs begin to enter into perspective, we anticipate that we’ll have a great finish! Regardless of where teams end in the standings, everyone is having a blast on Wednesday¬†nights!

Our Team of the Week is Spazmatic Transplants! Tonight they celebrated two birthday with their signature punch and some delicious cupcakes. They topped off this great celebration with a great game! They’re a staple to Wednesday nights, always bringing an awesome atmosphere to the courts!

Our Social Team of the Week took on Sets on the Beach! Beach had a good outing last week, while Spaz was looking of their first win of the season; they fell in a heart-breaker last week. Spaz would take early leads in both sets, but Beach would find resilience when faced with adversity. Beach managed to put together some nice runs as they had success finding their big men at the net. Couple that with some solid defensive play, and this one really looked like it could go either way in both sets. The scores were close, and maybe the wind was a factor, but Spaz was able to close out both sets, by slim margins, 25-21, 25-21.

Opposite them, I’d Hit That took on Setsy and We Know It. Hit That started with a 14-0 serving run! Starting in such a big hole, Setsy had to recoup and move on to set two. Here, they would find their groove and be much more competitive. The lead for either team never exceeded two, and featured a number of ties. But with the game close, a mini run of aces would seal the game for Hit That.
