Final Stretch! (Sunday’s)

Alcoballics

Week Five is upon us! With the season winding down, teams would brave the terrible traffic conditions for a beautiful Sunday afternoon of softball! This week, our Social Team of the Week is Alcoballics! When another team had a forfeit due to lack of opponent, the ‘Ballics stuck around to have a friendly!
First up we had Team Turn Up take on We Do the Sports! Team Turn Up would look to continue their hot streak, after upsetting the top team in the league last week. After a bit of a rough start, they were able to get nine in the second and an additional four in the third. They were able to hold WDTS to one run this afternoon, and would finish with an emphatic 13-1 victory.

Next up we had the Tanks take on the Alcoballics. Both teams came in desperately needing the W to keep their playoff hopes alive. This game was back and forth the entire way! A lot of fun to watch! But in the end, the Tanks would get the final say. Entering their final AB down two, they were able to bring in three runs and earn the much needed victory by a score of 8-6.
Our third game of the day put Hold My D up against the Whack Attack. Hold My D came back this week looking to bounce back after their first loss last week and were able to do that. They would put up 13 in their first two AB’s, all while holding Whack Attack to one. They would tack on three more in their final at bat, but Whack Attack had the final bats. They would bring in five, but the deficit was too large today. Hold My D gets the win by a score of 16-6.
Our final game of the night put I’d Hit That against Beers and Pitches. This game started off close, but I’d Hit That were able to find their groove in the third inning. They were able to find the defensive gaps with their bats and  were finally able to slow down the offensive attack of Beers and Pitches. I’d Hit That would earn the W by a score of 16-9.

Master Batters

Any night is a great night for softball, and this Sunday was no different at Rusty Lyons! Tonight had some very close games that had fans on the edge of their seats.

First up, Master Batters against Vatos Locos featured back and forth lead changes, but in the last inning both teams really found the gaps in the defense. Vatos Locos were able to pull the W with a final of 13-12.

Cash Me Outside and Juggernots also had a good game at the end of the night, which also had different lead changes. Despite the numerous lead changes, both teams had some big plays on defense. This game did end in a tie, but the play making in this game was very impressive. These will both be exciting teams to see in the playoffs!

Good luck to all of our teams in the final stretch of the season!
