Spazmatic Transplants

It was a long night for many teams as many had doubleheaders, but that may have just improved the atmosphere! Our Social Team of the Week is Spazmatic Transplants! They have played with us all season, and many, many before this, and are always a blast! Tonight for their doubleheader, they even made a delicious concoction that they shared with many! They’ve had a tough season, but that hasn’t hampered their spirits! They’ve already signed up for next season, and if you haven’t, make sure you head over to the SASSC website to get registered!

On our Social side, we had an epic game between Bumpin’ Uglies and Spiked Punch. These two have been fierce competitors all season and tonight was a chance for one of them to build confidence going into next week’s playoffs. These teams have a history with both knocking each other out once in previous playoff seasons. Spiked Punch was short handed tonight, and Uglies definitely tried to take advantage. Despite missing an offensive and defensive anchor, Spiked was able to rally and take the first set, 25-20. As always, Uglies would have an answer and responded with their own second set victory, 25-16. To the third we go, and of course, this game would come down to defense and mental mistakes. Tonight, Uglies were able to capitalize and took the third set, 15-9.

On our Super Social court, May the Spike Be With You came into the evening as the seventh seed. With a victory tonight, they would have the opportunity to make up some serious ground. Tonight, though shorthanded, they would take on Dig in a Box. Box has been very good this season, and this would be no easy task for either team. After quickly adjusting to playing with five, Spike found their groove and was able to take the first set, 25-22. After the break, Box reconfigured and lead a majority of the second set, and with some breathing room, took set two, 25-20. But the third set would ultimately belong to Spike tonight as their serves and rallies were on point only making two rotations the entire set. They would take this 15-6. It was a great match played by both teams and we look forward to seeing this match-up again next week!

It’ll be a great playoff series next week, so make sure you join us! Following the game, head over to the Hangar for great drinks!
