Not This Pitch! (Sunday’s)

Ice Cold Pitchers

Week Two is here! We had some great games today! We had some teams look to bounce back from their Week One defeat and we had some try to earn their top spot in the standings in the early going.

Our first game of the afternoon put two teams who had monster Week One performances. Tanks would take on Hold My D in this early season showdown. Tanks were able to strike first, bringing three in during the first inning. But you can’t ever quite count out Hold My D. They were able to get their gloves working and their bats swinging. They would respond with 12 runs between their final three at bats, all while holding Tanks to 0 on the scoreboard. The final score of this one was 12-3 in favor of Hold My D.

Next up we had Team Turn Up look to keep their winning ways rolling up against the Whack Attack. Team Turn Up started strong, bringing in five in their first three AB’s. Whack Attack were able to turn things on in the third inning where they would bring in six runs to add to their total. They would score two more in their last AB and enter the top of the sixth with a nine-to-five advantage. Team Turn Up was able to bring in one, but were unsuccessful in the comeback bid. They would fall to Whack Attack by a score of 9-6.

Next up we had our game of the day! ICP took on the Alcoballics. Alcoballics struck first, bringing in five runs in their first at bat. This is where their bats would stall out as they were unable to get anything going after a strong start. ICP brought in five runs to tie it up in the bottom of the fifth. After holding Alcoballics to a zero runs in the sixth, they just needed one to get the W. ICP used their speed to take advantage of a double play situation and were able to win this one in walk off fashion thanks to some crafty base running. ICP gets the win, 6-5.

Next up we had I’d Hit That take on We Do The Sports. I’d Hit That started off with a consistent offensive performance, bringing in six in their first three AB’s, while holding We Do off the scoreboard. We Do were able to get a few runs in the third, but not enough to cover the huge fifth inning from I’d Hit That. WDTS would fall by a score of 9 to 4.

Our last game of the evening put Beers and Pitches up against Plan B. Beers and Pitches came out strong, scoring most of their runs in the first three innings. Plan B were unable to get anything going here as they would fall by a score of 13 to 5.

Rusty Lyons

Sit On My Base

It was an awesome day for softball at Rusty Lyons as the weather was just right for some fun on the diamond. Week Two took a big swing as many teams found their rhythm and chemistry on the field to be able to either make the game competitive, or come out of the game with a W.

Damn Champions look to have a another great season as they remained undefeated as they were able to take an easy win with a score of 15-2 over Vatos Locos. We had a good game between Pitch These Balls against Sit On my Base who had a good battle back and forth each inning. With different lead changes in this game, Sit on My Base was able to come out with the win with a 10-9 win. Later in the day, we also had a great defensive game between Smokin Bases against Motha Sluggas who had some big stop to avoid big plays in both dugouts, but Smokin Bases were able to come out with the win with a 4-3 victory.

Many teams had some big games on Sunday and looks like this season will be one for the books!
