I’d Hit That

Welcome to another fun and exciting day out here at Tony Martinez! Today was the make up day for the rainouts last week, so it was time to settle in for a few bonus games today.

Our first match of Sunday Funday put the Ice Cold Pitchers up against Sit On My Base. ICP got off to a hot start for their first game, bringing in four runs in the second inning and holding their opponent to 0. ICP would tack on a few more this game and come out with a win by a score of 9 to 4.

Next up we had Hold My D put on an absolute clinic against Bad News bears. They put up nine run innings in their first two AB’s and surrendered zero. They would go on to power through their hangover and win by a total of 25 to 1.

Next up, the league leaders, Vatos Locos, took on Pitches Be Trippin. Vatos Locos came in looking to keep their hot streak rolling through the first couple of weeks in the season. Their bats were still swinging, and their defense were still making some impressive plays. They would take another W in this game winning by a score of 10 to 3.

ICP would take on Bad News Bears on double header day in our next game. ICP brought in 14 runs in the first two innings while while conceding none. They would add two more, but also give up two more. Final score of this one was 16 to 2.

Hold My D would take on the Flying Chanclas in their second game of the afternoon. After the impressive start to the day, they would look to keep things rolling here. Hold My D is looking pretty dangerous this season! Both sides of their game has been pretty impressive so far. They would keep their winning ways rolling in this contest and finish with a 15 to 2 win.
Next up, I’d Hit That would take on Softballs and Hardsticks in our game of the day! I’d Hit That jumped out to an early lead and things were looking pretty good for them going into the final inning. Going in to the top of the 6th they had a six run cushion. Softballs and Hardsticks is one of our most experienced teams out here, so it’s hard to count them out of any game. They were able to get six runs in the inning and tie the game up. However, I’d Hit that had one more inning to get the run that they needed. Their lead off man took the first pitch he saw and drilled it to right field for a triple. The next pitch would be the last one of the game. An infield dribbler that allowed the man on third to run home and give them the run that they desperately needed. They would take this in walk off fashion, winning by a score of 11 to 10.

Our next contest put Smack My Pitch Up against Sit on My Base. Smack My Pitch Up had their bats working this game and played some solid defense throughout this game. They would take this one by a score of 14 to 1.

Our final game of the day put Softballs and Hardsticks up against the Flying Chanclas. Flying Chanclas got off to a hot start and were able to bring in seven runs in the first two innings while only allowing two. After that hot start though, their bats went cold. They would go in to the final inning with a two run lead. The lead crumbled, as Softballs and Hardsticks were able to place the ball extremely well and take advantage of what the defense was giving them. They would walk it off and earn the come from behind victory by a score of 8 to 7.

Overall it was another exciting week out here! Thanks for everyone that came out this week and we look forward to seeing you next week!
