Final Week! (Monday’s)

Entering the final weeks of the season, teams are well aware that every run scored and every run allowed is just as pivotal as the win itself. Remember that the playoff format now only allows four teams to make it to the big Dance.

Entering the night both Stirista and I’d Hit That each, had a single loss on the season and with Tequila Slammers winning their game prior to their own, both teams knew how important a W was. Pretty in pink as always, I’d Hit That got off to a “hot” pink start blazing some trails around the bases as they pounced on the Stirista pitching early with five runs crossing the plate before Strisita could mount any sort of response. A single run in the bottom of the first was all the offense they could muster in the early going. Stirista was able to prevent the game from becoming a route as the pitching found its groove in the second inning holding I’d Hit That to no runs, yet the problem yet again for Stirista was the total lack of any run production that was crippling their chances in this game. Zero runs in the second and in the top of the third I’d Hit That came alive again with three runs added to their lead started to make things bleak. Yet, Stirista reached down deep in finally reminded us all why they are a dangerous team. It started with a moon shot long ball that allowed the rally to start. The deficit was almost cut in half when the gloves of I’d Hit That recorded the third out then turned around and scored two more runs to put the nails in the coffin in this game. Stirista didn’t score again leaving them on the outside looking in and putting I’d Hit That in control of their own destiny. The final score from Rusty Lyons, 10-5.
