99 Problems But a Pitch Ain’t One

Our regular season has ended on Sunday afternoons, but not before a number of teams made their final push for a playoff spot. Some teams got the breaks they needed, and others fell just short. Most importantly, the social atmosphere remained positive, and the drinks kept flowing, regardless of the final score.

Our first game of the day between Smoking Bases and Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That was an impressive show on both sides of the ball. Despite two stingy defenses, both teams were at times able to find openings, but Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That came out with the win with a 6-5 victory. The next great game was a batting fiesta between Pitch You Be Trippin’ and The Swingers. Both teams excelled at smashing the ball they and there were frequent lead . But after four innings, Pitch you Be Trippin’ took the victory with a 10-9 victory. Another great game was between Smack My Pitch UP and 99 Problems as it was another batting clinic as well. This match-up, which resembled a home run derby, saw almost every player reach base twice, but 99 Problems did not have a problem coming up with the W with a 10-9 victory.

It’s playoffs time and many teams are ready to hunt for the championship and its anyone’s game. Thank you to all of great teams, and best of luck in the playoffs!

Just the Tip

The final week of the season is upon us, and what a way to start off the last day! Our two remaining undefeated teams would square off for the top seed for playoffs; Bomb Squad and Hold My D in this season finale. Hold My D got off to an explosive start and would not look back as they were determined to stand alone atop the standings. They were able to hold on to their perfect record and keep the Bomb Squad from making a dent in this game. Hold My D would take this one by a score of 12 to 3.
Next up, we had Here 4 Da Beer take on the Tanks. Both teams needed this W to close out the season. Here 4 Da Beer got off to a solid start and were able to hold on to the lead, winning by a score of 7 to 5.
Next up we had I’d Hit That take on the Suicide Squad. This game was back and forth the entire way with neither team able to take advantage. Suicide Squad had the last at bats, but weren’t able to come up with anything. Final score of this game was 5 to 5.
In the final game of the evening we had Just the Tip take on I’ve Got Friends. Just the Tip jumped to an early lead scoring 9 runs. I’ve Got Friends attempted the comeback but fell a little short. They would lose this one by a score of 11 to 5.

Best of luck to all of our playoff teams!
