Ice Cold Pitchers

The final week of the season is here! Teams would look to bring their A game as the playoffs approach. Our Social Team of the Week was a toss up between two league favorites, Ice Cold Pitchers and Hold My D! These two would face off this week and have an awesome time afterwards with the booze and the grills!

Our first game put Whack Attack up against I’d Hit That. Whack Attack would strike first, bringing in four in their first two innings. I’d Hit That was finally able to start doing just that. They would bring in 10 runs in their last two AB’s and would hold on to a 12-4 victory.

Next up we had the Alcoballics take on Beers and Pitches. Beers and Pitches started off hot, but the Alcoballics got on a tear in their last inning. Entering their final AB, they were down by 4. Alcoballics were able to get a few singles in their favor and chip away at that lead. Thanks to some solid base running and ball placement, they would bring in a total of five runs and earn the W in walk off fashion by a score of 7-6.

Next up we had the class clowns battle it out as Hold My D would take on ICP in the matchup of the season. This game was back and forth the entire way with neither team able to take advantage. With two minutes left on the game clock and the home team advantage, Hold My D was finally able to break the tie. They would score four runs in the final inning to earn the 9-5 victory, and secure the #1 spot for the playoffs.

Next up we had the Tanks take on Team Turn Up. Both teams needed the W here to stay in the playoff hunt, but only one team can get it! Tanks started off hot! They were able to bring in 11 in the first three innings, but Team Turn Up has a history of bringing in runs at any point during a game. However, today was a different story. Their offense was unusually quiet as they were held off the scoreboard for a majority of the game. Tanks would go on to win this by a score of 11 to 4.

Our final game of the night put We Do the Sports up against Plan B. This game had some fireworks! Our highest scoring game of the season for sure. WDTS would bring in 18 runs and only give up 11 on their way to a Week Six victory!

Rusty Lyons

It was a great final week of softball on Sunday at Rusty Lyons field as many teams came out to the Diamond to fight for that final position in the standings. Many teams used this week to fine-tune their game in preparation for next weekend.

We had a great game between Vatos Locos and One Team, One Bed which had everyone in the stand involved as some big plays were made in the infield which led to a back and forth score lead change. One Team, One Bed was able to pull the win with a victory of 7-6 but it was not easy. We should be seeing a great playoffs in the Social Division this week as many teams will be going after the Damn Champions who lead the division.

In the Super Social Division we had Ballapenos and Juggernots also have a thrilling game which came down to the last inning with a tie ball game. Ballapenos were able to get the victory with a 8-7 score be expecting Ballapenos to go for a repeat championship this week but it will not be easy with many great teams.
