Was This the Home Run Derby Tonight?! (Monday’s)

Bat Asses

Week two of Monday night softball at Rusty Lyons produced some spectacular moments that were only complimented by the extreme wind and the spotty rain. While the weather was a nuisance it did provide some excitement to the already thrilling games.

This week we highlight the last game of the night when two passionate teams dealt with the elements as well as each other and while the final score of the game may say otherwise. The game itself displayed the sheer determination of both these talented squads. Big Brown Stix took advantage of batting first jumping out to a three-run lead. That lead lasted less than one inning as Bat Asses responded with four runs to set the pace for them. Losing the lead did not discourage Big Brown Stix though and they proved that fighting and hustling for every extra base they could get. Credit Bat Asses with some fantastic defense and key outs to hold Big Brown Stix scoreless while they turned up the juice on their offense added to the lead to pull away in this one 15-3. The outcome of the game didn’t ruin the atmosphere as both teams enjoyed each other’s company which was evident in the postgame handshake.

We look forward to another great next week! If you missed us this week, make sure to join us at the Hangar following each game all season long!
