Food Drive Information
In return for your donation to the North Texas Food Bank, your team will accumulate points. These points will be important throughout the entire tournament. In each game, the team with more points will receive home field advantage. This structure will be kept for all rounds of the tournament, including playoffs. Prizes will also be awarded for top donations. Read on to learn how your team can earn food drive points.
Virtual Food Drive
Your best option is to use LoneStar’s Virtual Food Drive, set up exclusively for the Kicksgiving Tournament. Every dollar donated equals three meals for those in need. You can earn the most points for your team through the Virtual Food Drive.
To ensure your team receives credit for your donation, make sure to select your team name, listed under “Company”, from the menu. Virtual Food Drive donations will be accepted through Friday, November 21st at 11:59am CST. Credit for a donation cannot be given retroactively, so please make sure to select your team name during the donation process. The more money your team raises, the more points each dollar earns for your team. A full breakdown of how points are awarded is in the table below.
Physical Food Drive
Although we strongly encourage you to participate in the Virtual Food Drive, you are still welcome to donate priority food items the day of the event. Food will be collected and counted at check-in, half hour before your first scheduled game. While we will gladly accept donations for the food bank throughout the day, we will only set a team “food points” total before your first game. Please do not ask your game official to count donations at the field; food points can only be set by the tournament directors. Below, you will see a breakdown of what items earn points and how many points are awarded for food donations.
Not only is the Virtual Food Drive the way to earn the most food points, it is also the best way to help the food bank feed the hungry. As an extra incentive, we’ll be awarding prizes to the team and individual with the largest Virtual Food Drive contribution. Prizes are courtesy of our partners including Firestone Walker Brewing Company and Rex Goliath Wines.
Please let your team, friends and family know about the the drive and how they can help. Thanks for helping us kick hunger in North Texas! If you have any questions, feel free to email or call us.
