Playoff time is here at Indoor Kickball! The previous six weeks blew by like a blur, and it all comes down to two final games!
Our first match put the top seeded Kickin’ Ain’t Easy up against Sons of Pitches where they were able to show why they were the number one seed entering the playoffs. They were able to completely dismantle the defense of Sons of Pitches as they would glide to a 12-5 victory.
Over on court one, we had #2 seed, New Kicks on the Block, take on Oracle. This game was a close one with neither team making an offensive statement that they so desperately needed. NKOTB was finally able to break the tie in the sixth inning by bringing in two runs and giving them the advantage. Oracle was unable to get anything going tonight and would fall by a final of 2-0.
Our championship match was then set! Top seeded Kickin Ain’t Easy would take on the #2 seed, NKOTB, and what a game it was! NKOTB struck first and was able to hold Kickin Ain’t Easy to one run. The top seed, however, came in handy as they had the last AB. Down one and three outs away from wasting a top seed, they were finally able to break the solid defense of NKOTB. They brought in two runs with two outs, and needed one more run before they got the out. With a runner on third, there was a blast into the left field (court??) gap, allowing the runner to score and to win the title of champion in walk off fashion. They would take the season by a score of 3-2 over NKOTB.
Congratulations Kickin’ Ain’t Easy! As always, we’d like to extend a big thank you to all of our great teams ans spectators. Each of you made this an awesome season, and we can’t wait to do it all again soon!
