Looking to Score
Welcome to Week Two! Tonight, we give a shout-out to two teams who took deciding the home team to the next level. Instead of the traditional rock, paper, scissors, they decided to have a chugging contest instead, which of course was awesome! Props to Not Your Average Joe’s and Looking to Score!
Our first match-up put Las Chupacabras up against Don’t Be a Bunt. Don’t Be a Bunt look to be in mid-season form already! They started off hot and were able to get a consistent flow of runs this game; bringing in 11 and holding the Chupacabras to one. Don’t Be a Bunt seem to have all the tools to make an impressive run for the ‘ship, but only time will tell.
For our second game we had Don’t Be a Bunt look to continue their hot streak and Hotline Bling looking to end it. Hotline Bling struck first in the second inning, but you can never quite count out Don’t Be a Bunt. They were held off of the scoreboard until the fourth inning where their kicks finally started finding the gaps in the defense. They were able to bring in 11 runs in their final three innings while keeping Hotline Bling quiet on the offensive side. Final score was 11 to 1.
Next up we had Not Your Average Joe’s take on Looking to Score. Thanks to some superior beer chugging skills, Not Your Average Joe’s were able to earn the rights of Home team in style. Looking to Score would score first in the third, but Not Your Average Joe’s were able to counter with three of their own! Looking to Score were able to stop looking and start scoring in the fourth, where they would add four runs to their total and get the lead. They would add three more to finish with an 8 to 3 victory.
Our final game of the night put Kick It and Quit It up against the Guido Hitmen. Kick It and Quit It started off strong, bringing in six runs in the first three innings. Guido Hitmen were able to bring in two, but the defense of Kick It was too strong today. Kick It and Quit It would take the W by a final of 8 to 2.
