Opening Week at the Diamond! (Monday’s)

With it seeming feeling like forever ago since we’ve played week one, teams were eager to take to the field and get back to softball, and with eight games on the docket, everyone got their fill at Rusty Lyons.

With playing multiple days, Nicesnatch is one of the staples of Sunday and Monday softball and they always come prepared to play and to be social as well. They took on another easy going team in Ca$h Me Outside and their care free attitude. With both teams coming off a victory in week one, a win would only sweeten their night. In the early going both teams were trying hard to figure out each other’s pitching and both teams had goose eggs through one inning. The bottom of the second, Ca$h Me Outside broke the scoring ice with a solo run and continued to silence the Nicesnatch bats. The damage could’ve been worse for Nicesnatch were it not for the stellar defense displayed by the Nicesnatch left fielder. This close game didn’t stay close for long as Ca$h Me Outside broke open the game with six runs to provide them with a sizeable lead. Over the next three innings, Nicesnatch added three runs to close the gap but couldn’t string together enough hits to have big inning they knew they are capable of. This would be their downfall as they ran out of time giving Ca$h Me Outside the win, 7-3.
